Recycling – Circulation Game

🔧 How to set up the activity:
- 40x30 yard pitch split into 2 halves
- 5v5 – each team have 2 players in the attacking half and 3 in the defensive half who cannot cross over
- No goalkeepers
- Goals at each end
⚽ Activity:
- Teams play with a spare player in their own defensive third
- This means when in possession the attacking players will need to use the defensive players for support and to circulate the ball across the pitch
- Encourage resets to defenders to keep possession and change the point of the attack
- Progression: Add an extra player on each team who is allowed to move freely between the halves
✅ Coaching points:
- Reset to build again under pressure
- Don’t force forward play
- Use width to create space
