Blocking Runs

🔧 How to set up the activity:
- Create 10-yard lane with cones with a mini goal at the end
- Place a rebound board / mannequin half way down the lane
âš½ Activity:
- Coach jogs through as an attacker with the ball
- Player moves across lane to block path
- As player approaches the coach play a pass into the rebound board and attempts to get on the end of the rebound to score
- Player steps in to block the run and prevent a goal
- Progression: Coach mixes up trying to burst passed the player with a dribble vs pass to add unpredictability
✅ Coaching points:
- Use body, not arms, to block.
- Step into space early, don’t chase late.
- Stay alert to ball and runner.
